How strong are the chairs?
They have been load tested to hold 500 pounds per chair, 1000 pounds per frame.

Do I have to do anything to my counters to support the chairs?
No. The chairs are supported by a steel frame that is bolted to the floor. They are completely self-supporting and are not attached to the counters or cabinets.

What frame colors are available?
Standard available frame colors are white, brown, almond, or black. For an additional charge, the frames can be brass or chrome plated.

What chair styles are available?
We have many styles in stock. We carry wooden chairs in oak, maple, cherry, alder, and pine. We also have upholstered chairs with wooden or metal finishes.

What about chair colors to match my decor?
The wooden chairs are sold unfinished. Most customers prefer to have them stained locally to match their kitchen cabinets. For an additional charge, we do offer some staining options. Please contact customer service for options on upholstered chairs.

How many chairs can I put along my counter?
Generally, two feet of linear counter space per chair is required; however, corners and proximity to walls, or appliances should be taken into consideration. |
How can I be certain the number of chairs I want will really fit?
Fax, E-mail or mail us a layout of you kitchen with measurements, and we will verify or make recommendations. |
How much countertop overhang do I need?
For maximum seating comfort, a 15 to 16 inch overhang is recommended; however, we can make your Suspend-It frame to work with a counter overhang as small as 9 inches. |
Can Suspend-It seating be used in and existing kitchen?
Yes, they can be put in almost any kitchen. The frames are custom made to fit your home. |
I'm not sure my cabinets are a standard height. Will the frames fit my cabinets?
The frames are custom built to fit your cabinets. Almost any height can be accommodated (drop counter, standard, raised, ect. ). |

Installation Questions

Is Suspend-It seating difficult to install?
No. Suspend-It seating is extremely east to install. Each order comes with detailed instructions. Basically, the frames are positioned and bolted to the floor, a foot box is built, and the chairs are attached. |
Do I need a foot box under my chairs?
A "foot box" is built to cover the support feet of a "standard" frame. A foot box is not necessary with an "inverted" frame (support feet are flipped back under the cabinet box) ; however, an "inverted" frame can only be used in new construction. When an inverted frame is used a foot rail (not supplied by Suspend-It) of some sort is recommended for resting your feet on while seated in the Suspend-It chairs. |
